Vote DeKalb, Encourages Early Voting

In an effort to increase voter turnout in DeKalb County, county officials are launching an early voting campaign—Vote DeKalb—to encourage voters to cast ballots prior to the Nov. 2 General Election.

The Vote DeKalb campaign is “relying on religious institutions and civic organizations in the county to encourage their parishioners and members to get involved in the political process by establishing a 100 percent early-voting campaign within their congregations and organizations”. The goal of this organization is to drive 100,000 early voters to the polls.

Absentee polls open Monday, Sept. 20 for general election early voting. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Voter Registration & Election Main Office (4380 Memorial Drive in Decatur). In-person early voting will be held only at the main office.

Advance voting will be held Monday, Oct. 25 through Friday, Oct. 29 at the main office; Clark Harrison Building, Room A (330 W. Ponce De Leon Ave., Decatur); Chamblee Civic Center (3540 Broad St., Chamblee); DeKalb County Fire Headquarters, Training Conference Room (1950 West Exchange Place, Tucker); and Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center (3181 Rainbow Dr., Decatur). Advance voting hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
