NORTHEAST METRO – For this week’s installment of Best Spots, we’re compiling a list of Inexpensive Date Spots for you to take your special someone.
In today’s economy, it’s important to find companionship which, in our opinion, is the cheapest form of entertainment. However, it’s the springtime, and people like to get out every now and then. So, check out these suggestions for fun under $15.
If your date is a romantic, Athens-Clarke County Greenways and Riverside Parks are hosting a Full Moon Hike. This guided hike will be lighted by the full moon, which occurs on April 26. The hike begins at 8:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m. Athens residents will be admitted for a $2 fee, all non-residents will be charged $5. The park is located at 205 Old Commerce Road in Athens.
If your date wants to re-live their childhood and go for a 30-minute pony ride, take them to The Stables Equestrian Center at the Lake Lanier Islands Resort. Although, only, one person is permitted to ride on a pony, at a time, this activity is sure to recall a mirage of childhood memories. The ride lasts half an hour but the memories will last a lifetime, one ride costs $15. For reservations call (770) 932-7233.
If your date has a sweet tooth, take them to the Gimmie Some Suga Bakery Bar. This bakery, located in the Suwanee Town Center, has about 30 different types of cupcakes and about 20 different types of cakes. For $15, you and your date participate in a 1 hour pastry decorating class, led by the stores' owner. For more information, call (678) 482-4555.
