LAA Invites Community to Sazón: A Latin Culinary Experience

The Latin American Association (LAA) cordially invites the community to Sazón: A Latin Culinary Experience, a charity fundraiser in benefit of the children and families served by the LAA. The event will take place Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts.

During the event, guests will savor Latin America’s rich tapestry of flavors as internationally renowned chefs prepare an exquisite five-course meal. An interactive mixology of tequilas will also be featured during Don Julio’s Luxury Drop served by tequila ambassador Lauren Iovanella.

“Sazón is part of the Latin American Association’s EnLAAce series of cultural events that celebrate the culinary, artistic and musical traditions of Latin America,” said Millie Irizarry, CEO of the LAA. “Our goal is to share the beauty of Latino culture with the community at large, creating a bridge between all of Atlanta’s diverse populations.”

“We are especially grateful to our distinguished chefs, Le Cordon Bleu, Les Dames d’Escoffier and Ladies of Legacy, the LAA’s philanthropic society of women, for their collaboration and outstanding support of this event,” said Myrna Clemmons, managing director of resource development at the LAA. “It is partners like them that truly enable us to make a difference in our community.”

Chefs to be featured during Sazón include:

  • Chef Lala:   As seen on NBC’s TODAY! Show, Martha Stewart, The Dr. Oz Show, Univision & CNN en Español
  • Chef Oscar Mendivil: Executive Chef of Lime Taqueria & Tequila Bar
