ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Silverbacks recently auctioned off their game-worn jerseys from their first season in the North American Soccer League.
This auction raised more than $3,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, according to a release from the Silverbacks.
"Auctioning the jerseys was a great, creative way to raise awareness and funds to support keeping kids in our community healthy," Missy Dugan, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, said in a statement. "We teach our kids every day about the importance of physical activity, good health and positive life choices. We look forward to more great opportunities like this with the Silverbacks."
During the auction, the winning bidders got to meet the players whose jerseys they received, collect autographs and take pictures.
