The 5-foot-9-inch midfielder, who scored a goal during the Silverbacks' preseason win over Clayton State University, left his native Liberia at age three and settled on the Ivory Coast with his family. He moved to Lawrenceville at age 14 and became a soccer star at Central Gwinnett High School.

After graduation, Carr played for club CS Concordia Chiajna in Romania before returning home to metro Atlanta in 2011.

"Borfor brings versatility and pace to the team, which are two great qualities to have," Silverbacks head coach Alex Pineda Chacon said in a statement. "He can play different positions and has the ability to blow past defenders with his remarkable speed, so we're happy to add him into our squad after seeing him play very well this preseason."
