DORAVILLE, Ga. -- The Atlanta Silverbacks are giving fans the unique opportunity to design the team's uniforms.

"As an organization, we want to get the fans as involved as possible, and we hope they will enjoy this opportunity to actually decide what their team looks like next season," said Rodrigo Rios, director of soccer for the Silverbacks. "It's not very often you get to decide what your favorite athletes get to wear."

Anyone is invited to download a uniform template from the team's official website or Facebook page and create a design. Completed entries should be sent to contest@atlantasilverbacks.com.

Starting Monday, Aug. 1, the entries will be placed in a photo gallery on Facebook, and fans will be able to "like" their favorite submissions.

The five entries that receive the most likes before Friday, Sept. 2 will advance to the finals. Each finalist will receive two season tickets for 2012.

The winner will be announced at halftime during the Silverbacks' final regular season home game on Saturday, Sept. 24, and the winning design will be worn during the 2012 season.

Whoever creates the winning uniform design will receive a four-day trip to Bogotá, Colombia, where the new uniforms will be manufactured, as well as two tickets to a professional South American soccer game and four 2012 Silverbacks jerseys showcasing the design.
