Georgia Lottery Debuts 'Decades of Dollars' Game

ATLANTA -- The Georgia Lottery is introducing a multi-state game with the opportunity to win millions.

Decades of Dollars is a new game with a top prize of $250,000 every year for 30 years.

"We constantly are looking for ways to keep our games fresh and exciting for players as we work to maximize revenues for the educational programs we fund," said Georgia Lottery Corporation president and CEO Margaret DeFrancisco. "The additional revenue generated by Decades of Dollars will benefit Georgia's HOPE Scholarship and Pre-K students."

Decades of Dollars tickets went on sale Sunday, Jan. 30, with the first drawing scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 3. Drawings will be held every Monday and Thursday at 11:00 p.m.; they will be broadcast live on Georgia Lottery draw stations throughout the state.

Tickets are $2 per play.

'Renew You Boot Camp' to Begin for Two Georgia Women

ATLANTA -- Two Georgia women have been selected to have their lives transformed from the inside out.

Kim Ault and Shannon Killion will participate in the six week Renew You Boot Camp, which is run by a team of five Atlanta professionals: aesthetician Tracey Thomas, hair stylist Kristy Edmondson, personal trainer Anggie Pope, wardrobe stylist Cheri Lynn and life coach Kevin Brown.

Renew You's kickoff event will be held on the soccer field of Dunwoody Baptist Church (1445 Mount Vernon Road, Dunwoody, 30338) at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 10. If it rains, the event will be moved to Tru Serenity Salon & Spa (6035 Peachtree Road, Doraville, 30360).

The kickoff will consist of a contestant orientation, team opening statements and boot camp challenges.

Book Sale, Health Fair, 5K This Weekend

DORAVILLE, GA -- There are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy in Doraville this Saturday, Oct. 16.

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Friends of Doraville Library (FODL) will hold a book sale at the Doraville Library (3748 Central Avenue, Doraville, 30340). Paperbacks, hardcovers and even some movies appealing to both kids and adults will be available for purchase. The Doraville Business Association will be selling hot dogs, drinks and other refreshments.

All proceeds from the book sale will benefit FODL. For more information, call the Doraville Library at 770-936-3852.

Northwoods United Methodist Church (2635 Fairlane Drive, Doraville, 30340) has planned a community health fair and children's festival from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They will provide a free health program, including blood pressure and diabetes screenings, health materials from DeKalb Health Department and a chiropractor.

Doraville 5K/1K Road Race is Coming

DORAVILLE, GA -- There's still time to pre-register for the 2010 Doraville 5K/1K Road Race, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 16.

The 5K will begin at 8:00 a.m., while the one-mile fun run starts at 8:45 a.m. The Tot Trot 100-yard race will be at 9:00 a.m.

The Doraville 5K Road Race will start at the Doraville MARTA Station (6000 New Peachtree Road, Doraville, 30340) and finish in front of Doraville City Hall (3725 Park Avenue, Doraville, 30340). Check-in will be at City Hall; parking is available at the MARTA station, First Baptist Church of Doraville (5925 New Peachtree Road) and the Doraville Civic Center (3770 Central Avenue).

Pre-registration for the 5K and 1K is $15; it goes up to $20 on the day of the race. The Tot Trot registration fee is $5.
